Melody N. is the mother of four grown children, and also has 4 1/2 grandchildren (new one due in November 2010). She loves every age of child, from newborn infant and up. She spent the last 2 years working in the Upper Montessori Classroom and this past year working with the Lower Elementary Montessori. When I was 13 I started volunteering at a summer camp in Arlington because I loved the camp experience so much. I became a camp counselor at 15 and spent my summers working at different camps throughout Arlington. After graduating from high school I worked at the extended day Program at Long Branch Elementary school. I gained more experience with children, including different types of games, art projects and music. I have an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts from NOVA and have a love for all things art! I have been working at Wakefield High School as an Educational Administrative Assistant for the past four years and enjoy working with teenagers. She was a certified child care provider in Prince William County, operating her own business for 4 years, until she remarried, and moved to Arlington in 2005. Prior to that, she was in the associations management field. Jo Ann is married, lives in North Arlington, has a stepson and a daughter, both in 5th grade. Other members of the animal-loving household include 3 cats, 2 birds, an iguana, and numerous fish. Jo Ann's daughter, Heidi, accompanies her on babysitting jobs, and is a responsible (a Girl Scout), affectionate, playful child. Her interests include traveling (she's been to all 50 states, and 20 countries -- so far!), music, animals, and history.
