She worked her way up from the dish room and special activities (crafts, athletics, etc.) to serving as a camp counselor for girls ages 6-8 years and 12-14 years. In college, Kristyn worked as a nanny to four girls ranging in age from 3 years to 9 years. Her responsibilities included light meal prep, planning activities, dog-walking, transportation, and overall supervision. Kristyn graduated from Messiah College with a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. She went on to pursue her Master's of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology with a focus on Child and Youth Work. After graduating, Kristyn spent a year in Philadelphia working as the Director of Children's Services for North Light Community Center, where she managed both the after school and summer camp programs for children ages 3 to 12 years. Eventually, she decided to pursue her dream of living in Washington, DC, where she now works for a local nonprofit that supports people struggling to overcome eating disorders.
